Whisking away from the usual to an extraordinary journey of thrill and adventure, Aumen Film Co recently embarked on an innovative campaign for Camelback Resort, titled "The Mountain is Calling." Designed to breathe fresh air into the summer season of 2023, this campaign aimed to cast a wide net over Camelback's multifaceted offerings, bringing a new wave of excitement for existing customers and drawing in new ones.
/challenge
"The Mountain is Calling" was more than a call to adventure. The objective was to create an engaging campaign that painted a vivid picture of Camelback Resort as an idyllic destination for all generations. Aumen Film Co set out to exhibit the expansive range of experiences available - from a colossal zipline to a waterpark, all while introducing Camelback’s recent switch to a "pet-friendly" lodge. The catch? All these had to be woven together into an unforgettable narrative within a 30-second commercial.
/APPROACH
Picture a family, drawn away from their humdrum daily life, teleporting into the heart of various adventures around the resort. This unique approach meant we could cover a vast array of activities and locations while maintaining a solid narrative thread. Whether they found themselves zipping through the air or splashing around the waterpark, every teleportation served as a leap into a new, exhilarating chapter of their vacation. The culmination of their journey led them to the iconic "Chuck the Camel" statue, the mascot and memory collector of countless unforgettable family moments. Talk about a race against the seasons! An East Coast seasonal commercial meant filming the summer delights of Camelback Resort couldn't happen until the end of their ski season. In fact, filming took place 6-8 months in advance, in a still-warm September. Harnessing the power of state-of-the-art camera robots, stabilization systems, and long-range transmission systems, we transformed the challenges of filming a teleporting family across a sprawling resort into a series of seamless, visually captivating scenes.
/DELIVERABLES
Our teleportation adventure came to life in a 30-second flagship commercial and a 15-second micro-cut. The campaign was thoughtfully designed to fit various formats for OTT, website, and social media usage. Along with the commercial, a full campaign of still photography was delivered for digital use, resort signage, and billboards. Additionally, the team created a selection of GIFs and a high-quality video clip library for Camelback's in-house marketing team to use in their ancillary edits.
/DISTRIBUTION
Camelback's marketing team expertly maneuvered the distribution of the campaign through diverse channels, including OTT platforms, their website, and across all their social media platforms. With their partner Awestruck managing the OTT targeting, the campaign managed to reach and engage a large and diverse audience.
/IMPACT
Although comprehensive data is yet to arrive, early signs are positive. The teleporting family journey sparked intrigue and excitement, resulting in uplifting feedback from Camelback's partners and stakeholders. This whimsical, teleportation-laced narrative certainly seems to have left an indelible mark on the audience, instilling anticipation for the summer season.
